30 Day Blogging Challenge – Day 19

So you decided to set up a blog, you think to yourself you are going to write all this amazing content and in no time you are going to get a million followers, lol, but alas it’s as baron as the Sahara desert. So what now?

You stay up all night thinking of interesting articles to write, you retool your wording thousands of times to get it just right. You spend ages trying to find the best cover picture, so with all this effort you wonder, but why is no one liking or commenting on my stuff?

After some YouTube binging about making YouTube videos, it reminded me of the similarities to blogging. You have to be consistent and you have to interact on other people videos…

Interestingly while sitting here at unemployment I was reading an article from a blogger I follow New-Lune. As always she has such great articles and the one I was reading about how to connect with other bloggers ties in nicely with what I wanted to write about today. Basically like anything we need to work at it. We need to take time to read what other bloggers are talking about, like it and comment. If we make it a habit commenting and really trying to connect with others they will, in turn, read our stuff and comment back.

Who knows maybe they start to use your stuff in their posts and this also helps you grow as a blogger.  So moral of the story is to work not only creating your blog but also take time each day to find new bloggers that you can follow and interact on their blogs too. Show that you have a genuine interest. Don’t just post random generic comments for the sake of growing your blog. It will look disingenuous and you will probably not get many followers.

So what’s my advice in this piece. Make blogging a daily habit if not writing then reading and subscribing and liking. Speaking of this reminded me of another article that I read from New-Lune about dedicating time each week to work on your blog, you don’t always have to post but start working on the articles in your drafts. Collect ideas, link to ideas from other blogs that resonate with you.

I guess this article is more of chastisement to myself as I haven’t dedicated enough time to blogging. With things being up in the air you are frantically running around like a mad man and mind is not in the correct space. So definitely planning a bit better will help.

Anyway let me know what your thoughts are in the comments below and feel to check out New-Lune blog she has some really helpful stuff.

    1. Pleasure, you have so much good content and it resonates with me so want to tell others where I got the info to help them grow too. And I am glad you found some enjoyment reading my stuff 😀🤗
